While designing at OHOM, I wanted to create a custom icon to promote a new line of products called the 'Ui Artist Collection.' This unique collection of products are self-heating mugs that are handcrafted meticulously by ceramic artisans. To convey this narrative, I began with intricate sketches, capturing the essence of the original artisan who created these mugs, shaping it with precision and care. These sketches eventually evolved into a simplified yet evocative icon, embodying the very essence of the 'Ui Artist Collection' – where the art of the handmade takes center stage.
Icon Design
Inspirational Photos:
I began by using Procreate to sketch the ceramic artist who is crafting the mug in order to capture the narrative before transforming it into an icon.
Rough Sketches:
Drawing inspiration from the original Ui Mug logo, designed to resemble a person holding a mug, I extended this concept by depicting someone crafting the mug instead. I was able to really get into the details by using Photoshop.
Ui Transformation:
After finalizing the icon, I used Adobe Illustrator to vectorize it and applied a stamp-like filter to add texture, giving it a more artistic appearance.
