Classroom Takeout
The goal of this project is to design a package that interacts with the product, adding value through the experience. A customer must interact with both the product and the package to discover the unique experience through my design choices. I have chosen to create a high-end sushi box that doubles as a set of school supplies.
Brainstorming Ideas
Inspiration:
I was inspired by the appearance of high-end sushi boxes, but I aimed to bring that elegant experience to standard takeout boxes with a creative twist.
Elements:
Inspired by Japanese indigo fabric patterns, I used Adobe Illustrator to craft a design that appears traditional; however, upon closer examination, it reveals that it is actually comprised of school supplies, including paperclips, pencils, and notebook paper. To link the concept of school supplies to sushi, I incorporated a sashimi slice pattern as part of the overall design.
Final Design
Final Product:
To create the final product, I used cardstock paper to assemble a sturdy box after measuring the school supplies. I used wood textured vinyl to wrap the box and achieve the appearance of an authentic bento box for sushi.
